Nowadays, you don't see that sort of thing anymore. It took Ezio decades to reach the apex of his skills, but through the Bleeding Effect, it only took Desmond a matter of hours. Desmond was reliving the memories of Ezio Auditore simply to hasten his training as an Assassin. This was when the modern-day story was distinct from everything else that happened in the past. Yeah, Assassin's Creed 2 was released when the franchise was still infantile, so the lore was still developing at the time. For people who played this game what your reaction to the ending? Yeah that ending was so suspenseful that I immediately started playing brotherhood when the credits ended. And then they had the future stuff that explain that we have to stop the end of the world. And to think that she was using Ezio to speak to Desmond means that she knew Ezio would make and she would know that Desmond would look back into Ezio's memories. Not like the screaming kind, but more like holy shit why hell are you staring at me. When she looks at you/Desmond I felt like that scared the shit out of me. After I defeated the pope I made my way into the vault and hologram lady introduces herself as minerva and by the way I was playing this ending early in the morning. Also I love that Leonardo Davinchi is in the game as your upgrade guy and is a major character in the story. In my first playthrough I got the Altiar armor and all 30 codex pages. Best weapon in the game is the 2 hidden blades. I loved how he went down the path of being an assassin because he wanted revenge. I hopped into the game and Ezio was fighting rich kids on the street and I loved the joke he made about handling his sister. Like how in future there is an evil company called Absergo/Templars and the other future characters like Desmond and Lucy are with the assassin's. As this is my first game into the franchise a lot of this stuff made sense. I download it onto my PlayStation and began to play the game. I only started playing this because a friend kept telling me I should play it.
